Airport Noise Abatement
We're committed to doing everything we can to minimizing the effect of aircraft noise to on surrounding communities while maintaining a safe and efficient air transportation center.

We created the Oakland Airport-Community Noise Management Forum (www2.oaklandairport.com/noise/noise_oakforum.shtml) to address community noise concerns and make recommendations on noise related issues at the Airport. We're working together with representatives from local communities, Airport staff, airlines and the FAA who to facilitate cooperation between the Airport and local communities

We're also monitoring aircraft activity through a computerized Airport Noise and Operations Monitoring System (ANOMS). The other way we're responding to the community is through our Noise Report Hotline, (510) 577-4194, which records citizens' concerns. Staff makes every effort to answer the Hotline on weekdays between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; otherwise, the message is recorded.
